  • Carl Cook presented Scott Golding a check for $1000 for Medical Care Missions to help provide dental care at the mission. Lisa Cornwell of The Adult Day Care Center was presented with a check for $2950 and Abilene Hope Haven was presented with a check for $2000.
  • Fred Aycock presented Carl Cook with a check for $2000 for Hope Haven.
  • The Board of Directors announced that any member who was more than 30 days in arrears would be required to pay cash for guest meals instead of putting additional charges on their account.
  • Sid Pass was honored for 65 years in Kiwanis with 62 years perfect attendance. Sid is 96 years young.
  • Teresa Walch, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Abilene, was presented with a check for $1,367.65.
  • Kristin Carnohan announced that IHOP has been secured as the corporate sponsor for Pancake Day. IHOP will furnish all of the pancake batter, butter, and syrup.
  • This year's Pancake Day netted $32,000.
  • The Texas-Oklahoma District Convention was held August 2-4 at the Abilene Civic Center.
  • Chris and Kristen Carnohan presented a report on the Kiwanis International Convention which they attended in Taipei,Taiwan June 23-27. Chris reported on the highlights of the convention and Kristen presented an interesting slide presentation of Taipei.
