  • We finished the year 1991-92 with 261 members a gain of 13. Lt. Governor Leonard Farmer of the Clyde Golden K Club inducted the new officers and directors on Oct. 2, 1991. Lt. Gov.   • Our own Norman Nail is the Lt. Governor this year and he inducted the Club officers and directors on Oct. 7. Lt.   • Nancy Miller gave leadership to the first Fun and Fellowship pot luck supper which was a great success and displayed the talents of some of our members that was that was unknown until then. Lt.   • President Lewis has a two dollar bill each week to give to the Kiwanian who is the sixth person to greet the mystery person.   • Jack McGee, Secretary, Texas Oklahoma District was our speaker on October 28. He announced that our club is one of the 15 largest clubs in all of Kiwanis. Lt.   • The club again supported the weatherization project of the Abilene Volunteer Weatherization Program by contributing $100 and volunteer workers.   • Bailey Choate was the Master of Ceremonies for the Governor's Banquet on November 30, 1992. Governor Charles M. Parker brought an inspiring message to 225 Kiwanians and guests. Nine of the twelve clubs in Division 35 were represented. Lt. Gov. Norman Naill announced that a check in the amount of $675 will be sent to the T-O District Foundation to honor Governor Charlie Lt.   • President Roy Lewis has asked Chris Carnohan to become the Program Committee Chairman now that Doug Williamson stepped down to become the editor of the Kiwanigram. Lt.   • Goodwill Industries received a $2000 check from the club to purchase a used pickup truck which will put three more people to work. Lt.   • International President-Elect Art Swanberg spoke to our club on Jan. 6, 1993. Bailey Choate and Rosemary were hosts to the Swanbergs while they were in Abilene and provided a fine reception for them. Lt.   • Jerry Harris was elected Vice President to replace Todd Walker who resigned February 3. Tommie Williams was elected director to replace Jerry Harris/ Lt.   • The Sweetheart Banquet was held on February 8, at the Petroleum Club. Bedford Furr entertained with his and other writers' poetry, Charles Nelson of ACU entertained us and Russell Berry honored and embarrassed Len Johnson as the new Kiwanian of the Year. Lt.   • Pancake sales Kick-off date is March 3. The supper is April 13. Donnie Auvenshine is the Ticket sales chairman. Lt.   • Past President Chris Carnohan and Secretary Roy Coffman were presented Distinguished Club Officer Pins by Past Lt. Gov. Leonard Farmer earned in 1991-92. Lt.   • Membership Chairman Jerry Harris is sacrificing his looks by growing a beard. If the club members bring in 30 new members this summer he will shave it off, 31 and he will shave his head. Lt.   • The club donated $1,000 to Disabilities Resources, Inc. giving them enough money to receive a $100,000 matching grant. Walter Pfeifer made the presentation. Lt.   • President Elect Nancy Miller, Baily and Rosemary Choate and Lynn Lee attended the International Meeting in Nice, France. Nancy gave a great report on that meeting. Since she will be President when the District Convention is held in Abilene next year she went to the District Convention in Galveston to learn all the details. Russell Berry has been named as chairperson of next year's convention. Eleven members of our club attended the Galveston meeting. Lt.   • The Public Relations Committee has set up a plan to recycle old Kiwanis Magazines by placing them in offices, & public places. This project is being promoted by Walter Pfeifer. Lt.   • The Kiwanis Office moved back to its old location 473 Cypress St. Suite 202 from 1390 Sayles Blvd.
